User information in case of application interruptions

Challenge: Providing accurate information about application interruptions

Many companies use numerous applications (such as ERP, HR, or finance systems) simultaneously. If one application fails or undergoes maintenance, only certain users are affected—not the entire organization. Without targeted communication, all employees receive notifications, even if they are not affected.

The consequences:

  • Information overload for employees
  • declining attention (even for truly relevant messages)
  • unnecessary support requests
  • rising support costs

Solution: Provide targeted information using IBI-aws selection criteria

With IBI-aws, you can (unlike with mass emails) provide targeted information to the users affected, thereby generating significantly more attention for the current outage. Notifications can be tailored precisely to the application affected. Only those users who actively use this application will see the notification. This increases the relevance, acceptance, and efficiency of your IT communications.

1. Provide information

Define start and end times, specify reason, draft text content (including use of “variable”):

2. Select display type

Depending on the desired level of attention, choose between “Full screen,” “Fade in,” and “Still”:

3. Select application

Select the “Finance” application as a selection criterion and restrict its use:

4. Set advance warning

Proactively inform users of interruptions via “advance warning” (displayed in the taskbar, 2):
